METBA Meetings

Our next meeting will be held at at Flying Pie Pizzeria, 7804 SE Stark St. on Tuesday, January 19 at 12 p.m. We hope to see you there! Some of the things that will be on the agenda include:

- Garrett Stephenson of the PDC will give us the lowdown on the Main Street program, a national community-driven plan to resurrect older, traditional business districts. The Main Street program is a time-tested revitalization plan that rebuilds traditional commercial areas based on their unique assets: distinctive architecture, a pedestrian-friendly environment, personal service, local ownership, and a sense of community.
- Paul St. John Parker, interim executive director of the Alliance of Portland Neighborhood Business Associations (APNBA), will pay us a visit;
- Special events in the new year, such as the Stark Street Stroll and a monthly evening event, such as First Friday Nights;
- Moving the Milepost 5 Marker to a more attractive location; and
- Setting goals to encourage vitality and prosperity to the Montavilla East Tabor business district in the new year.
